ANDERSEN CORPORATION PURCHASES EAGLE WINDOW & DOOR
Products to Continue to be Sold through Weather-Tek
Design Center
Andersen Corporation announced today that it has reached a
definitive agreement to purchase Eagle Window & Door, an Iowa-based
manufacturer of aluminum clad wood windows and patio doors. Brookfield-based
Weather-Tek Design Center, Inc. represents Eagle Windows in southeastern
Wisconsin.
Dave Molenda, owner of Weather-Tek Design Center, said,
We are excited with the merger and all the possibilities it will bring,
as we are dedicated to continuing our strong presence in the Milwaukee area
window industry. Eagle Windows makes a great product, yet it lacked notoriety
in our area. We now have instant credibility, which will better position
Weather-Tek in the local window, door, and skylight market.
Eagle
employs nearly 900 people in a manufacturing facility in Dubuque, Iowa. The
company focuses primarily on high-end residential and commercial construction
projects.
We are excited about the prospects of becoming part of
the Andersen enterprise, said Dave Beeken, president and chief executive
officer of Eagle. The combination of Eagle and Andersen will provide
great opportunities for our customers and employees.
Eagle is
currently owned primarily by Linsalata Capital Partners, a Cleveland-based
private equity group. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed. A
tentative closing date is set for late May.
Andersen is the world's
largest manufacturer of wood windows, patio doors and storm doors, and
celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003. The company is privately owned and
has a strong history of commitment to its business partners, employees,
community, and the environment.
